The show is all over and boy did it end on a strange note. The main event honestly deserves it’s own piece, which I’ll have up next. As for the rest of the show here’s what I think:
Sheamus vs Randy Orton
Good opener. Sheamus wins clean to even things up from Battleground when Orton got a clean win. We got all the signature moves from both guys and a nice finishing sequence to close it out.
Tag Team Title Match: Prime Time Players vs New Day vs Lucha Dragons vs Los Matadores
New Day is tearing it up right now, and this was the perfect setup to have them regain the belts through sneaky tactics and make the Primetime Players look good to keep the feud going. At this point it’s pretty obvious that the Matadores and Dragons are only there to add some high flying stuff to the match; neither team is going to win the titles any time soon. The match was good all around.
Dolph Ziggler vs Rusev
Match was ok, the crowd was starting to cool off. The ladies for each man got involved, and it ended in a double countout. This is more than likely a setup for a mixed tag match at Night of Champions, and hopefully it will end there. Rusev needs to get served up a few people to get his mojo back and Dolph could use a different adversary.
Stephen Amell and Neville vs Stardust and King Barrett
Pretty much perfect execution here. They kept it short, and didn’t expose Amell. He had some nice athletic moves (including a top rope dive) and sold the beating well. Neville did the heavy lifting for his team as expected. Nice little diversion.
Intercontinental Title Match: Ryback vs Big Show vs Miz
Another short one that got in everything it needed. Ryback wins to retain the title as expected. Good for what it was.
Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
Good match overall. No heel turn for Dean or Roman as some people wishfully threw out hope for on Twitter. That’s a good thing; a gratuitous hotshot turn for no particular reason would have been stupid. You folks that can’t let go of Roman winning the Royal Rumble aren’t going to give him a break if he goes heel anyway, and people want to cheer Dean so a heel turn for him wouldn’t take so why do it? Dean and Roman won straight up; I’m assuming this ends their whole angle here and all four guys will move on.
Title vs Title: Seth Rollins (World Champ) vs John Cena (US Champ)
BIG surprise here with Rollins winning thanks to the surprise John Stewart heel turn and interference. I don’t think anybody saw that coming.
Excellent match, and Rollins led the way. Cena works better when he’s in with a bigger opponent like Kevin Owens or leading along a more limited guy like Ryback than he does solo with smaller guys like Rollins but Seth worked his butt off in there. He pulled a spectacular frog splash and Cena used a figure four leglock at one point in the match.
Easily one of the best two or three matches of the night. Rollins winning and holding both titles presents an interesting situation. In the short run I bet he keeps both for storyline purposes. But long term either he’ll lose one of them, I’m sure. Great stuff from both guys, though.
Elimination match: Paige, Becky, and Charlotte vs The Bellas and Alicia Fox vs Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Tamina Sunka
Gotta say this was a letdown. For one they put it in the cool off spot after the Cena-Rollins match, which is a sign that someone in the front office still doesn’t get it. Then Banks’ team gets eliminated only six minutes in, which the crowd hated. After the performance she gave the night before and the way the crowd is responding to her, getting Banks’ team out of there a few minutes in was a bad move. And the crowd showed their disapproval by booing the elimination then largely going quiet afterward. Banks is a star and they better not mess this up. The match was pretty good but the dead crowd took something out of it.
Cesaro vs Kevin Owens
Great stuff here. You rarely see the match before the main event at a non-WrestleMania show be this good. Both guys brought their A-games, and for Owens this was less than 24 hours after a hellacious ladder match against Fin Balor. 
If by some chance their angle isn’t finished I’d love to see these two guys lock up again. They really worked well together. Owens needed a win after taking two straight losses to Cena so him winning here is the right choice.
Main Event: Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar
The finish here deserves it’s own piece, and maybe I’ll do that later. But the match itself was damn good. Taker appears to have figured out just what he can and can’t do at his age and adjusted accordingly. He didn’t have to be carried through this one like he did against CM Punk at WrestleMania 29. And he even took a lot of major bumps. He ate a bunch of suplexes from Lesnar and took an F-5 on the announce table. A hell of great brawl. But that finish……good grief. I get that you can’t have Brock win two matches in a row against ‘Taker, and that you also can’t have Lesnar out there just straight jobbing. But couldn’t they have conjured up the same controversial ending with a ref bump instead of the timekeeper freelancing foolishness? We’re obviously going to get the final chapter at WrestleMania and if they can duplicate the intensity of this one and have a good, clean finish then maybe we can forget about this. But until then we’re going to have a real sour taste in our mouths over this.
Overall grade: A
Some great matches, no real stinkers, and they guys who needed to get in and out quickly did just that. Main event finish aside this might be the best top to bottom show of the year.
